We all like a wedding, and we were really pleased our new practice manager so obviously enjoyed hers. Here is Samantha's account of her own wonderful day and the build up, plus a photo or two from the day.
Gary and I had been together for a long time and with two beautiful boys, 2 dogs and 2 rabbits a wedding seemed the furthest from my mind. So when Gary proposed in April 2012 in a beautiful remote cottage in Wales I was stunned but unbelievably happy. Again we didn’t feel a rush to get married however our eldest son Jack was very keen as were certain members of our families so in September 2012 the preparation began. I wish I could take the glory for the amazing planning and preparation that ensured that everything was ready to go months before the date of 28th June 2013, however that must go to Gary and my wonderful Mother Susan.
In the run up to planning our wedding Gary and I became aware, as most bride and grooms do, that we will have a lot of photos taken of us. So the beauty regime began, this included all manners of healthy eating, skin regimes and for Gary and I getting our smiles right. Over the last year I had realised my love of coffee and red wine had slowly stained my teeth so I decided to discuss with my Dentist at SHDP, Amanda, tooth whitening. I was aware of many offers available on the internet but had heard horror stories of permanent sensitivity which as a food lover I did not want. Amanda assured me that it was straightforward and painless, so I decided to go ahead with it. It was a steady process over weeks which makes it painless and caused no sensitivity. After my whitening I had a Hygiene appointment with our Therapist Nicola Mottram who tidied up a small filling I had to match my now white smile and gave my teeth and mouth a really thorough clean and I finally felt happy with my smile.
Gary on the other hand did not. Gary was concerned not with his smile being white and shiny, but with his smile being full and not hurting him. So he came to see one of our Dentists and began a course of treatment which fitted in with our timescale and available finance. I watched Gary over his course of treatment gain confidence and smile more than I had ever seen. It is with great pleasure I have a first hand experience of SHDP making a different to both mine and my families confidence and making ourselves confident enough to enjoy our wedding day comfortably.
The day itself; it rained from morning to night but it didn’t in any way dampen the day. We had a beautiful ceremony and reception at Peruga in Marple Bridge where I cried during our vows and our sons where ring bearers, we had a gorgeous 3 course meal topped off with hot chocolate brownie and cream. We had face painters and balloon artists and sausage and bacon butties to finish us off in the evening. We all danced until past midnight when our children finally collapsed (about an hour after I wanted to); I can say whole heartedly that both Gary and I had a fantastic day with all our friends and family.
The mini-moon was in York, minus the children, where Station House Dental Practice ensured I gained a stone by treating us to Champagne Afternoon Tea at Bettys and an amazing Italian in the Old Masonic Hall. We had a fantastic time and are now looking forward to our family honeymoon later this year where the plan is to take the boys to Disneyland….I am also a little excited about it!
