We were pleased to be among the founder sponsors to Glossop parkrun which had its inaugural run on Saturday 26th September. Below you can see John Bates and Rebecca Teasdale when they helped with the trial run the previous week. John Bates was tail runner on the first event a report of which is here. parkrun is a super way to keep fit, get out in the fresh air and meet people. You can read an earlier blog here where John Bates describes his enthusiasm for it. "parkrun is weekly, 5km timed runs around the world. They are open to everyone, free, and are safe and easy to take part in. These events take place in pleasant parkland surroundings and we encourage people of every ability to take part; from those taking their first steps in running to Olympians; from juniors to those with more experience; we welcome you all." One of the common themes with parkrun is celebration with cake, for the inaugural event a wonderful Glossop Lion and park run themed cake was made.
